How it is made

Consultation
Custom is an exacting process. During the initial meeting we discuss
your vision: style line, silhouette, proportions, colors. Dictates of the
event and venue are taken into consideration to match the
appropriateness of design. Measurements are taken and a fittings
schedule is planned. Most gowns require a minimum of four fittings,
each lasting 45-minutes to one hour in length. Generally a bride will
start working with us no fewer than four months prior to her wedding.

The Muslin Toile
A perfectly fitting, proportionally-balanced, flattering garment starts
with a muslin toile. With sizing perfected, style lines are drawn onto
the toile to determine balance and harmony.

First Fitting
The desired garment takes shape in muslin: at this stage seams are
balanced, fit is checked and style lines and proportion are considered
from all angles.

Second Fitting
A basted sample is made in the final fabric. Each fabric’s hand and
drape is unique so the garment is examined closely at this point.

Third and Final Fittings
At the next fitting a sewn second sample is presented. Minor adjustments
are made and trims and accents are placed. Depending upon how
complicated the garment is dictates the number of additional fittings.
At the final meeting an exacting examination is made before the creation
leaves the salon.
